Mamavation Monday Pledge

Over the last few years I have struggled with my weight for the first time in my life and it is due to the very unhealthy life that I have been living. It is only in the last couple weeks that I have been making sure to include fresh produce in my diet and have only worked out sporadically. It is not just about me either. My husband, although he is skinny, already has dangerously high triglyceride levels. I don't even remember the last time my 11yr old stepson had fresh fruit or vegetables. He is also very skinny like his dad but I can't continue to let them eat the way they do. My 14 year old daughter has been struggling with her weight for a long time now. This last year she also had elevated cholesterol levels and just last week she had a little bit of a high blood pressure scare. I need to be her healthy role model! Not skinny, just healthy. If she sees me enjoying fresh foods and leading an active lifestyle it could have such an impact on her. I don't want her to ever feel ashamed of her body but I want her to respect it. I am ready to commit to healthier eating and a fun active lifestyle. That is why I am pledging to be a Sista of the Mamavation Sistahood. Not for me, not to magically fit back in to my size 2 jeans but for my family. My family needs me and I need the Sistahood!
